the full moon, which has come together with mars in retrograde in virgo has created a sort of release for all the pent up energy we’ve recently tried putting out in the world but has had no result.
this might come out as anger, pure frustration or passion. lately, we’ve been taught that making plans has been a bad idea, because they all seem to come to naught. very likely there’s been a prevalent feeling of unbearable tedium or boredom. the full moon kind of resparks this energy to break free and move in you. it might make you suddenly very inspired about the future, planning and making new resolutions. i was inspired to decide to move to japan and renewed my values and my goals. it’s a great time to get that bolt of inspiration to hit you on the head and turn you in a new direction.
it also might have you throwing fists in anger over your favorite cause - it’s like everything has been stagnant and our insides have been yearning for a fight. the full moon allowed a break from the mars retrograde and allowed ourselves to express our anger, be passionate about what we believe in, etc.
of course, this full moon served as the perfect backdrop for KONY 2012.
Don’t look ahead there’s stormy weather
Another road block in our way
But if we go, we go together
Our hands are tied here if we stay
Oh, we said our dreams will carry us
And if they don’t fly we will run
Now we push right past to find out
How to win what they all lost
We know now we want more
A life worth fighting for

Sun/Pluto conjunct in Libra. Poetic and intelligent lyrics. Subtly empowering a strive against the power (Pluto) and encouraging strength of will, undermining corruption and restoring equality (Libra).
People with strong Pluto in their chart always have this sense of knowing what is hard for others to see, that there’s an underlying power and intensity that strikes us as being refreshingly human… that there’s a dynamic mortal experience in her lyrics that reaches out to others in a deeper way.
(thanks to weswaminthestars.tumblr.com for this idea - i highly recommend reading and following them for their astrological musings, which are quite interesting)
what love looks like to leo - regal, playful, gentle, yet a collaboration of equal forces.
“I’ve got the stuff that you want
I’ve got the thing that you need
I’ve got more than enough
to make you drop to your knees
‘Cause I’m the queen of the night”
- Whitney Houston, Leo (RIP)
now let’s see how the lion(ess) leo handles relationships.
like any fair minded king or queen, leo loves living in an environment of relationships and love that is playful, grand, and full of merriment and gifts for all. that’s what leo wants in love and friendship - lots of attention given and received, fun, frivolity and happiness all around. they don’t like to love quietly, either. if they love someone or someone matters to them, they will let them know and let everyone else know. a lot. these people aren’t the kind to keep quiet about those feelings. like a lion, they love people they can playfully exchange jokes or punches with. the spirit of play is alive and well in a leo person, but… remember, leo people need to be treated like kings or queens. that is, respect their ego, their pride, and try not to tease them out of cruelty or mockery. mocking their accomplishments or who they are is, for this sign, a very damaging prospect. they are very sensitive to criticism if they sense it isn’t out of a playful spirit. so, to romance or befriend the leo person, praise them. let them know how much they mean to you. as dramatically expressive as possible. they love the bold and dramatic declarations, and it makes them feel more important and loved. entertain their ego, work to understand their pride, and give back everything you receive with equal gusto.
the monarch leo is very generous to the people they love, but in a way it’s not for free. like all humans, leo needs reciprocation.. but for them it’s more important. people who are expressive about the leo’s accomplishments, love, or emotional significance will have them feeling warmly and they will work to repay you in kind with compliments, gifts, and/or attention. just don’t get ahead of yourself and inflate their ego too much.. remind them the importance of humility, because they’re especially prone to taking everything for granted.
MARS in LEO
these people drive for attention. they push forward their energy into getting noticed. by everyone, eventually. so for lovers, that should tell you a lot already. mars in leo person are sure to shelter you and hold you in high regard should you give that praise, attention, and opportunity to them. loyalty and sincerity are key words for these people (as they are for everyone) but loyalty is an especially hot topic for mars in leo. like a king or queen, loyalty is systematic for their day to day operations. these people hate deception, mockery, and underhanded tactics. as a result, cynicism, mockery and insincerity will instantly spark a nasty side in these people. in love, as i said before, they seek loyalty and sincerity. they view people in a way that relates to themselves. if a person is able to give them love, attention, comfort, then they are equally or more willing to return all of those things. the mars in leo person rewards rewards. but their tactic is to rush into the world, proclaiming their nature and grand stature, and those who pick up on that, respect that, and let them know are the ones that they notice. Mars in Leo must feel that attention or loyalty is guaranteed first before they pursue you.
view it like this - they throw out the bait. if you take it, you’ve got their attention. just make sure you’re in it for the long haul…. remember, loyalty. :) they’ll make it worth your while. these people, like i said, are prone to taking things for granted.. so remember to give them a smack of humility if you need to.
VENUS in LEO
venus in leo is more about enjoying the finer things and delving into the fun. though they naturally command attention, they don’t seek it as actively as mars in leo. they’re more into the things right in front of them - the gold encircling their fingers and wrists, the drink in their hand, the laughter from friends in their royal abode. venus in leo has a gift of being very amiable - people find it hard to resist their charm… but the unfortunate thing is that for many venus in leo people, not many people stick out. you must be equally as worthy to get his/her attention as (s)he is to get yours. because they are so often surrounded with charisma, merriment and love, it’s hard to distinguish yourself out of his/her friends or admirers. they know they’re hot, they know they’ve got people in the palm of their hands… so like a lion, you must be their equal, their challenge, show that you can resist their charm and yet magnetize them with yours at the same time. venus in leo is the queen/king lion that’s happy to be on their throne and are rarely aroused by challenges or those who are willing to meet them head on as equal, to resist them and attract them at the same time. people with fortitude, mystery, and a charm similar to venus in leo are sure to grab their attention. just remember - they have an active social lifestyle and fun things are their routine. be sure you can keep up the pace, have fun and relax for a while. venus in leo is complacent where he/she is but when they see something they like, they’re intrigued… prove they’re not all powerful and they’ll be under your power instead.
i’m starting off the moon series with the natal moon in aries. the moon in this position is a bit restless, as the moon, a passive and reflective planet, is placed in the fiery sign of aries, whose key word is initiation. as a result, the natural emotional nature of the moon feels a bit uncomfortable with aries, who values a certain toughness and is more about progress and less comfortable in identifying with tender and soft feelings.
I’ve been reading Amy Herring’s book and a lot of other reference books and I’m getting really good notes on the signs of the moon in astrology. It’s powerful stuff and I see it speaking to each of the people I know with a certain moon sign. Drawing on my own previous knowledge and what I’m reading, I’ll post an article (per diem, hopefully) about the moon’s domicile in each person’s chart.. Everyone will find something that speaks to them.
Additionally, if anyone has any requests as to what moon sign I should write about first or what their own moon sign is, please send me a message. I’d be happy to do that.
Anyway, I’m looking forward to it. I’m growing more fascinated with the moon.
